I have been ROBBED buy Square enix

I feel so robbed I just started to install ''The Last Remnant'' on my PC and noticed i had to Use steam so that means ZERO resale value right? When i buy off steam it is my Choice! i feel tricked like they got over on me. I usually give my self a week or two from installations/purchase and then sale a game and use the money to buy my next game!! I could have gotten it on a 360 or a different game all together this is a bad business practice! Why would they do this to me??I have been ROBBED buy Square enix
It's difficult to resell any PC game.Besides, every game I've purchased that requires steam says so on the box.I have been ROBBED buy Square enix
And the Last Remnant is hardly playable on the 360.

You can sell your Steam account.
r this is a bad business practice!
Preventing people from selling their used games (for which the developers/publishers would receive no money) and therefore giving people no real option to to buy new (meaning developer/publisher profit on every sale) is bad business practise?

Given how many people are happy to accept it (15m Steam accounts), it seems like a pretty damn good business practise to me. Not that I approve, or anything. It's just good business.

I think he means bad as in ''bad dog!''.
Newsflash: Re-selling PC games is heavily frowned upon both by developers and by MANY consumers.

Besides why would someone want to buy your used copy of a game when they could get the new version for an insignificant amount of money? Games cost virtually nothing in the greater scheme of things so why would you be so cheap?

I spend more money on my cable bill than games every month and it is very rare that I don't buy nigh every title released, especially when they're on Steam.
I personally think the resale of any game is bad and there needs to be Steam forced on damn near every game.I would like a similar system on Consoles as well.

I don't get it... why is reselling games bad?

That's like saying you can't sell your used car because the manufacture wouldn't receive any money. If you purchase and own a product you can resell it if you like. Unfortunately steam takes away that right from the consumer.
You can sell your Steam account.
No you cant, well you could but it will get disabled if they find out.Yes it does say it on teh box, in very fine print, and I would agree that games forcing you to use steam are pretty lame, Steam is great when its a choice not when its forced on you.just want to add that this is %100 your own fault, had you done your research you would have known this prior to buying.

Same as saying ''yourdumb'', ''no you are''. Reselling games is bad because the developer gets no money for their licensed property. This why the analogy to buying and reselling a car is inacurrate. Ihave no illusion that this will be understood by this crowd but it all comes down to owning property. When you buy a car you own that car, it is your property. But when you buy software you only buy the license to use that software the company that produced that software owns that software, it is their property.I like Steam but I don't like it being used as DRM. I don't like DRM at all but it's a reality. If it becomes too onerous then people won't buy their game and they'll have to do something else. But it may be one of the forms of DRM that works at least to battle piracy for the short run. I have no illusion here either that it will be successful in the long run. That's too bad. It's just another hit on honest game buyers.

Why shouldn't I be able to sell that license too? I don't see why that should be at all a bad thing as long as I'm no longer using the game myself. Have a go at explaining it to ''this crowd''.
And the Last Remnant is hardly playable on the 360.
It plays just fine on the 360 once you install it to the hard drive. They should have required that since it is pretty bad without it.As for pc games the resale value is crap anyways. This is something to consider when choosing between pc and console versions.

No need for a flame war because it seems we agree. I just missed the sarcasm in your original post :P
