Space Ship Design Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a game that is NOT an MMO (i am not paying monthly charges) that allows you to build a space ship? Or able to costumize your ships looks?Been unsuccessful in my travels and hoping someone might have come across one some where. ThanksDWSpace Ship Design Recommendation

unfortunalty homeworld did not, great game though... The ability to create your own ships for a Home World like game is exactly what i would be looking for.And i am hoping spore will fill the void a bit.. But who knows when that will be out.. they keep changing there dates.. Was thinking of trying EVE, but i am not a fan of monthly cost. Thanks for the ideas though..

If you just want to build spaceships I guess GalCiv2 could also work, it's a turn-based strategy game so you won't get to fly them, but you can create pretty much any kind of ship you want especially if you get some bonus parts for the game.

X3 Reunion later on in the game when you get your own player base your able to build and customize ships from the ground up.
Starship creator 1 %26 2, 2's ships can be used on Bridge Commander game if I remember correctly. Yes they are Star Trek, and yes they are kinda old, but there was some fun to be had...
X3 and Independence War 2 come to mind.
I think you like battleships forever i't lets you 100% customs ships then fight them to the end!
