Dawn of War 2 or the orignal and expansions are always good options.



Failing that you could get the latest Total War.



Or how about World in Conflict?good RTS game that a lot of people play? besidese command and conquer.
DoW2 online is active

You can also find a game pretty easily in Empire Total War.
Company of Heroes, Dawn of War, StarCraft, WarCraft 3, Supreme Commander, Total War series (mostly singleplayer, but still awesome), Sins of a Solar Empire (not really an RTS, but great,), Homeworld...



All of the above are very excellent games. I'd recommend you try demos for as many as you can before deciding.
Company of Heroes is probably the biggest.
CoH and DoW2.
StarCraft, WarCraft 3, CoH, DoW2 and WiC.
Yeah World In Conflict is still my favorite strategy game of all time, I still play it on a daily basis. Graphically, it is the best looking RTS ever made in my humble opinion.
Warcraft III .. extremely active and a ton of mod options that can be extremely fun.
Age of Empires, World in Conflict, Supreme Commander, all great ones.

company of heroes is a SICK game with a learning curve.i havnt been online that much because im not that good but its pretty active.also warcraft is probably my fave rts of all time check it out.
