Electronic Arts stages fake protest of game at E3

http://apnews.myway.com//article/20090605/D98KFBSO0.htmlLOS ANGELES (AP) - Electronic Arts has been playing games with attendees of the nation's biggest video-game trade show. The game publisher hired a group of nearly 20 people to stand outside the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles on Wednesday and appear to protest the upcoming EA game ''Dante's Inferno.'' EA spokeswoman Holly Rockwood says the stunt was arranged by a viral marketing agency hired by EA.The group claimed to be protesting the third-person action game - loosely based on Dante Aligheri's poem ''Divine Comedy'' - because they said the game glorified eternal damnation. The fake religious protesters passed out pamphlets and held up picket signs with messages such as ''Hell is not a Video Game'' and ''Trade in Your PlayStation for a PrayStation.''Electronic Arts stages fake protest of game at E3

wish they'd shown a bit more of Dante's Inferno in the EA conference. All it got was a quick intro trailer, and then straight into Littlest Pet Shop, and tweeny EA Girls games.
What a great job! that would be so fun to mess with people and get paid
Sounds like a Slayer cxoncert.
Sounds like a Slayer cxoncert.
Or a Stryper concert.BTW I like both bands. :)
 EA gets cooler while activision starts sucking.
lol nice stunt
haha, EA is good at this kind of stuff. Now improve their online distribution and customer support and you might have the makings of a great company.
lame - was a half assed protest trying to cover up the shortcomings of a half assed game.

not impressed
What do you mean by ''half assed game''?It looks great. And they didn't even release bullshots, which means they're very confident.

True dat. EA spends more effort on marketing than making games. They don't care about gamers, they just want their money.
lame - was a half assed protest trying to cover up the shortcomings of a half assed game. not impressed
first off what is a half assed protest is that where they only protest for 2 hours then get bored and go home or is it when they change their dammand to a question. please stop war, peace would be good idea right?secondly this game looks full assed its coming from the team that made dead space and that game was highly praised
