i just got the fallout collection

i beat fallout 3 a while ago and finished all the DLC. i found 1 2 and tactics all on 1 dvd for 20. From what i heard iam going to realy be in for a treat. So far i played fallout 1 and got pasted vault 15 nothing special yet just been killong rats and stuff and it seems to be alot harder in terms of game play and where to go. However iam not goig to lose faith in this game since eveyone said its one of the est wrps ever. Where do i go next and when does it get more interestingi just got the fallout collection
tbh I'm really intrested in how your'e doing, Iv'e got a store near my home with the same complete fallout collection for very cheap, and I didn't get fallout 3 yet, still got alot of time till I will, and thought maybe it would be best if i'd catch the earlier games and finish them before heading to fallout 3.i just got the fallout collection
Well for me it did not get interresting before I reached Junktown, and began to be able to make choices, it is very much a ''mystery'' type game, so it involves looking for clues, and figuring out some stuff, it is nice ^^
Where you go next is up to you, and it gets interesting when you realise that.

Fallout games always have the worst starts I've played, once you get past the initial quests, it's all fun then.
Thought about getting the collection as well but I decided to get just Fallout 2 from GoG instead. Didn't like the idea of having to complete the game in a very limited amount of time like in the first one.

You can find fan patches to disable the time limit in Fallout 1 - should work with the GoG.com version as well as other retail versions.

I have all the fallouts right now - 1, 2, Tactics, and 3 :)
huh? what is that time limit thing, can anybody explain? sounds like a reason not to get the game :X
huh? what is that time limit thing, can anybody explain? sounds like a reason not to get the game :X
In Fallout 1 the story has it so you have a certain # of days before the water chip in the vault fails - your goal is to find a new chip before that time. The task can easily be done before the time limit, as long as you don't get too sidetracked. It is 100+ days (I think its around 120 or so but not sure).
As soon as you start to travel to differnt city's etc... The game really picks up then, when you get to more choices, and also start robbing alot of people hehe and doign side quests.Fallout1 and 2 are two of my all time fav games, Fallout3 was fun, but i didnt think it was as good as 1 and 2. Hope you enjoy the Fallout collection!

I think the time limit for the water chip is 150 days, but as you say there is easily enough time to do this. I play as a completionist, doing everything I can on the way, and I still easily make the time limit without having to rush at all.
Dated graphics, dated game - loved it when it was released, but I've moved on. (And so has the rest of the world in case you hadn't noticed.)And don't anybody dare say that Fallout 1 and 2 are better games than Fallout 3. I'm not even going to have that discussion. In a side by side comparison, Fallout 3 is one thousand times better than either of those games.Great, you loved Fallout when it was originally released - but it's time to grow up now, and move out of your parents' home. alright?

I know plenty of people who enjoy Fallout1/2 the most out of the series.I own all teh fallout games and imo the story, sidequests, humour and gameplay are better in Falluot1/2. While Fallout3 has better graphics and thats it.Fallout3 is great game, but its not nearly as fun imo.Is it not ok to enjoy all the Fallout games alot? Or does that once again mean we all are losers? and live with our parents

Too bad I played Fallout 1 %26 2 for the first time on 2007, and apart from graphics, it's miles better than the so-called RPGs these days.
to be honest with you i never enjoyed fallout 1 that much i hated brother hood of steel also...Now fallout 2 is by far my favorite in the fallout universe then followed by fallout 3just know that fallout 2 and 1 are much more different from fallout 3 in the way they feel/play even if its the same systemFun fact: the fighting system is based on a oldpen and paper game system called gurps
...eveyone said its one of the est wrps ever...
.????Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools?
Waitakere Ranges Protection Society?
Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools?
Worker Representation and Participation Survey?
Web Radio Puget Sound?
Wainwright Railway Preservation Society?
Western Reserve Photographic Society?
Within Range Pay Step?
Water Resources Product Suite?
Work Related Physical Strain?
Willamette River Power Squadron?Just kidding. :)Enjoy, because you are just playing for the first time one of the best games EVER!Where do you go from that is entirely up to you, that's one of the beauties of an open ended game. And if you want challenge, don't worry: you'll find it soon enough. Focus on you character building (perks and etc.), the game will play differently depending on your choices.Ah, I wish I was playing it for the first time...
You have to go in with a more relaxed approach, fallout has a different type of fun compared to modern games and ust be played with a different mindset
so I guess overall you guys suggest on getting the collection and finish 1, 2 and tactics before heading to 3? ^^

(Actually, just play Tactics after 1-4. Its a totally differnt kind of game then the other 3 Fallout games (although Tactics is still fun if you like those type of kings bounty/Final Fantasy Tactics strategy games).
