Left 4 Dead 2 Supporters

Hi all, seen a lot of people recently making threads about ''how bad L4D2'' is and stuff. So for a change, this group is for people who like L4D2 and are interested to see how it does. Anyone else is welcome, we are not competing with L4D Boycott or any other ANTI-L4D2 groups before anyone asks. This group just provides info on L4D2

The only reason why I like L4D2 is because I didn't buy L4D1. If I bought L4D1, I would be completely pissed off.Left 4 Dead 2 Supporters
If you liked L4D, why hate the sequel? Isn't more of something you like good? I love L4D and I can't wait for the 2nd. You wanted HL2:E3 first? Too bad. Get over it. It's not a reason to hate L4D2.
Left 4 Dead 2 is not a true sequel. It's more like an expansion pack. I saw the E3 videos and everything is rehashed. The graphics look exactly alike, actually worse now that it's in daylight Source is showing it's age.

Not sure if I'm alone, but L4D2 looks to have enough new stuff to be a sequel.

I am more upset that they haven't provided enough support for l4d 1. That and I am unwilling to pay more for ''additions''. I particularly don't hate l4d2. I just won't buy it.
The only reason why I like L4D2 is because I didn't buy L4D1. If I bought L4D1, I would be completely pissed off.
Exactly. Valve promised people updates for a game most people thought was only half finished, to make it a whole game. Many people bought it relying on the updates to make their purchases worthwhile. One MINOR update later, and they back out, take some of the ideas they were considering putting into L4D1, and packaging it for another $50. What makes it worse is that L4D2 seems even less content lite compared to L4D1. (The is 90% the same with some basic changes and new maps.) I for one, am PISSED at Valve. Had L4D1 been a complete game at launch, I wouldn't be as upset, but it definetly wasn't. -_-

Thus 'more of the same' in this case, some fans could say, might not be different enough to warrant another full-priced purchase.

Personally, I really liked L4D and wasn't aware that they scrapped content, just to have it in a sequel instead to get more money. I don't care that much, though. L4D was awesome (and still is), the 2nd will be more awesome. L4D have a lot of potential, so I hope L4D2 isn't the last one. A price of 20 bucks would be nice, but what the hell. A man's gotta pay what a man's gotta pay for his L4D2..
In my opinion, I don't measure a game's completeness by how much content it has, but how many hours I dump into and it feels fresh. That being said me and my friends played that game a lot, but everytime someone invited me to play I didn't think ''Ugghhh, not again.'', I thought ''Left 4 Dead, hell yeah!''. I picked up Left 4 Dead for $25 during a weekend deal because I knew it was kind of low on content, but I definitely racked up more hours on L4D than some other games I payed $50 for.
I will only have a problem with L4D2 if it turns out that updates for L4D stop (and that's by no means a certainty at this point), and I will only be bothered that they have stopped because Gabe personally promised additional weapons and boss zombies and so forth, not because I think the game needs them.

Now, sure, L4D2 is the same game with a new name, but I bet almost every L4D player owns HL2 Episodes One and Two. Those two expansions are collectively shorter than Half-Life 2, more expensive than Half-Life 2 and offer nothing new of real substance.

So I guess if VALVe split L4D2 in half and offered each half as an expansion pack for L4D and put a few years between them, people would have cheered rather than jeered.
Your little group is cute.Did I mention the Boycott group has over 7,000 mebers and is likely to break 9,000 tonight?
100K and they still won't care much. They'll just say, that they thought the fans wouldn't behave like this, not after they did so much for them and they're right, but most importantly, they never said they will stop supporting L4D 1, and it seems like what they'll do for L4D after they release it, will be compatible to some extent with L4D1.Anyway I don't care, I'm getting it, but not because of the campaign, or survivors, but because of the possibilities it will give to the modding community. I really hate zombie games, but for some reason I love L4D, that's enough for me, that it entertains me and that it's fun, just like TF 2, another great game.

Your little banner is cute, EA has done MUCH worse things, like curse everyone on the Madden cover, there was the atrocity Need For Speed Underground 2 that had an entire HUD based on Cingular wireless and beyond that was filled with even more advertisements yet the game did not cost any less to the consumer. Did I mention they killed Maxis and Westwood Studios?

What has Valve done for us, provided a stable and usable digital distribution platform that syncs us with our games, a gaming community and provides DRM for developers all in one. They give us great deals on games every weekend, they make great games. I would much rather pay $50 for a game that is great although a bit short on content, and then a year later $50 for another great follow up then spend $100 on two mediocre recycled EA games.

Lol, I exaggerate a bit, but that being said, I value Valve business practices more than EA's. EA tends to pick up a lot of talented developers I respect though, so it's a necessary evil I suppose.
Not at all a fan of the new characters, don't like them but the new gameplay additions look spot on. I want the original four survivors again!
I havn't played Left4Dead2 yet, so i cant say if i like it or not.But if its as good as the first one ill be first in line to buy part2. I spent over 100 hours on left4Dead, so if part2 is as good or better, then ill probably put in another 100 or 150 hours into it easily. We will just have to wait till the game comes out though to see how it is and how much its gonna cost,etc..

I'd say this is a very sound judgment. While a lot of us (including me) love to join the hate brigade, waiting until release would probably be the best way to judge the game. I have played L4D at a friends house however, and the trailer pretty much looks exactly like what I played. Judging from the trailer though (doing exactly what I said I shouldn't do), it probably won't be good or better but probably the same.
