Hey everybody, I just bought KoTOR and it won't let me start it up for some reason. I keep getting this message: ''Conflict with disc emulator software detected. See www.securom.com/emulation for more details.'' Their site doesn't really help so I was wondering if anybody here knew of any solutions to this problem. I'm running Vista premium btw. All patches for kotor installed.Conflict with disc emulator software detected! (KoTOR, need help)
You may have to uninstall any cd emulators you have installed such as Daemon tools or Alcohol 120% for it to workConflict with disc emulator software detected! (KoTOR, need help)
I haven't installed any programs like that. Whatever is stopping me from playing was on vista to begin with.
Try this file. That should get rid of the messageEDIT: Just so mods know, this is an official file released by securerom support and not a crack
You are the man ninja! I just bought this game again, it ran fine until it was updated and then I was getting this BS message. The file works like magic! Thank you sir.
It's because of vista + securom. I had the same problem, and found a thread on the bioware forums from an admin. Apparently, Bioware is actually encouraging you to use a no-cd crack since it fixes all the problems.

I need help. I clicked the file, I chose ''Open With Windows Explorer'', the file downloaded, my friend did something-or-other that put it in my documents, I open that document, and then,as I can tell it's starting to load (the mouse changes to the bigger blue version used in the game), a message pops up that says ''Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has stopped working.'' I tried looking online for a solution, but nothing hapens. What now? I really wanna play KotOR again!
This thread already died twice and it gets revived again, plus uchiha's problem is totally different from the threads, I think he has to run the game in compatibility mode or get a crack. (as much as I hate piracy, if a game I own doesn't work because of CD problems, then I always get a crack)

Somebody help me, dammit!
Somebody help me, dammit!
Come on man, a THIRD time, just go to properties and then click compatibility modes
Ok, I went into properties and I can't find it. I looked in all the little tabs:General, Hardware, Sharing, Customize, and Recording.Where is it?PS Sorry for being such a burden. This game is just pretty awesome, and I wanna be able to play it.

For all I know, I might be in the wrong window. When I say I'm in properties, I mean I right-clicked on the disc and went down to properties. That was the right thing to do, right?

I really wanted to play KOTOR again, but I am waiting till I can get the game to run on 1280 X 800 resolution for my laptop.. Apparently the widescreen profiler won't make the game stable at this resolution.

Right click the launch exe (or your bloody shortcut) located in your main KOTOR directory. Not the disc...
