Which is better: Guild Wars or WoW

Defend your statement.'Example: Guild WarsReally good cutscene, plenty of gameplay, low level cap to have hard time owning, and get to max level quicker.EDIT: and it's free per monthWhich is better: Guild Wars or WoW
well GW is good but WoW is the best MMO ever so i whould go with WoWWhich is better: Guild Wars or WoW
Someone posts a WoW/Guild Wars poll every week ;)
Someone posts a WoW/Guild Wars poll every week ;)
I was not aware of this... although I would like to see responses...
Guild Wars!GoodGameplayGoodFUNGood/Great Community (of course YMMV)Better GraphicsGreat PvP and GvGNo online fees, can pick it up and play anytime.I played Wow for 2 months, then tried Guild Wars, stuck with Guild Wars. Never regretted it.Nothing against WoW, I just liked Guild Wars better.
On these forums most people will say GW because they can't bring themselves to pay monthly for a game. Having played both, WoW is far ahead of GW IMO. GW is just an online rpg, nothing massively multiplayer because every tiny zone is instanced. I also like the endgame in WoW alot better. GW is pretty good, but IMO WoW is much better.

Are you assuming everyone here is poor or something?Ever heard of the WoW trial? I bet you most people tried it. Including myself. And Guild Wars is the better game.
I prefer GW just because the PvP is awesome and there's almost no grind.
Lots of people here hate WoW so expect to have the poll swayed in favor of GW. I say WoW though, I've played both and WoW just seems to be a much longer lasting, better experience. Not to say GW is a bad game, but WoW is much, much better.EDIT: I was right. You could have the poll as dog turds vs. WoW and dog turds would win, guaranteed.

It kind of reminds me of some (emphasis SOME, not all) people that think since they play WoW they are some how superior/better than us inferior/worse Guild Wars players. Or atleast that is the feeling/attitude I get from some of them. Of course, I'm just like ''Whatever man.'' ;)
Iam an avid Blizzard fan expacially of the warcraft universe. So I say WoW under the influence of fanboyism.
WoW by far, but apparently now in the gaming community it isn't cool to like WoW :P

You can't even experience a single percent of what WoW has to offer in the trial. No AH, no PVP(except WASG, but prepare to get owned by twinks who can use the AH), and last but certainly not least endgame raiding/pvp.It is as if you haven't seen all the WoW hate on these forums. Alot of people just hate MMORPG's for no real valid reason, and the cost as well. Guild Wars is neither an MMORPG nor does it have a monthly fee.
I have never really understood why people complain about the monthly fee. It is 15 dollars...thats the equivlant of going out to the movies once :P
Having played both I prefer WoW. Guild Wars just doesnt seem to be big enough for my personal taste. The fact that every region is instanced takes away the ''Massively'' aspect of it for me. Guild Wars just got boring quite quickly yet I still play WoW after 4 years.
They really can't be compared.

One is full MMORPG, the other one is like RPG Online Server Play....
I haven't ever played WoW, but I couldn't ever really get into Guild Wars...
I would have to say Guild Wars. I like the game because even though its fun, its slightly easier to play and get far in while still playing in moderation. I also love the graphics of guild wars, and although it isn't fast at first glance, PvP matches in it can beyond epic. I must say that i also love the selection of spells and skills available in the game, and the cinematics are amazing and really bring you into the game.

and just so you know, I have played WoW and i actually got a level 70 (whose name i don't remember XP) Shaman, and i'm not saying that i didn't enjoy the game alot, but It wasn't exactly as much fun as many other games i have played, and i actually would put it on the same level of Phantasy Star Universe for the level of fun i got in the game (don't misjudge. Phantasy Star was an amazing game for how simple it was). I loved the expansive feel of the game, and even though I sometimes found annoying people, the community was not as bad as some people think it is. Also, its NOT addicting. I used to spend a max of 2 hours a day playing it, excluding Friday night Raids. (alot longer, but trust me, i took breaks.)And on the comment of it not exactly costing much, that is true. I used to go through more than 15 Dollars a WEEK on small trinkets and sometimes 100 Dollars. 15 dollars a month is pretty decent pricing, and unlike a car, nothing bad besides loss of access to the game will happen if you stop paying.
Played GW for about a month. Played WoW for 4 years.WoW is better by far. I prefered the environment and battle system. I just thought GW was too bland and cheesie in general.
I'd have to say WoW purely because it's a true MMO.It's not all instanced. The PvP is very intricate seeing as each class now has 30+ abilities to use. Beyond gearing up and leveling WoW PvP takes skill and team work, even the worlds top players say they find there is still room for improvement.Graphically I find WoW more unique and with the recent changes (ultra quality textures %26 huge distance draw) it looks very up to date.I prefer being able to run around while in combat, it feels so much more immersive and allows you to use the environment to your advantage.Basically it's a very enjoyable game with a lot to do. You can now mass scale PvP in Wintergrasp, you can join BGs from anywhere in the world, world PvP is always plentyful in Northrend, you can solo old-world content (Zul Gurub) for good loot, you can raid with your guild each week which is a laugh, etc.I don't know why people dislike WoW as an MMO to be honest, it didn't get high scoring reviews for nothing.
