1) Wal Mart has the Galactic edition for 39.95 now..Is it worth it?2) this is a biggie...I only have a Nvidia 6200 old pci card..The biggest this comp will take..no agp or pci express...1 gig of ram...intel pentium 4 2.66 ghz....I know that the scrolling of sims 2 could be slow on my old computer with a 6800 card.....It bit the dust..So would it run smoothly..I know Ea hates to give actual playable specs?:DSpore questions?
I don't know the answer (or have an opinion) on your first question; however I do know that Spore is one of those games that plays well on just about anything. It's very versatile.Spore questions?
Don't spend your money on it.

This man speaks truth!!
guess I'll pass then..Thanks:)
To counter what the two recommendations in this thread are saying, I would suggest picking it up as the game is thoroughly enjoyable. I paid $70 on the Galactic Edition, and I consider it money well spent. The game is fun. Simple, uncomplicated fun. Is it the second coming of gaming Jesus? No. Sure the gameplay is fairly simplistic...but it doesn't need to be complex to have fun. Personally, I think the joys of the game come from seeing what you can design and how that design ends up in the later stages of the game. Just bear in mind that what you are considering picking up can easily be broken down into four, easy to explain game styles:
1. Pac-Man
2. Simon combined with a scavenger hunt
3. Simon
4. generic RTS w/ 3 unit types
5. single-player, space MMO (referring to quest variety here)
Now let's consider what Spore is not:
• Life simulator
• Evolution simulator
• a hand-holding, spoon-feeding single player story driven game
• as bad as most people are making it out to be
• deserve being the most pirated game of 2008
All that being said, you are not stuck with that 6200. Even though they are budget cards, I know the NVidia 9400 and 9500, as well as the ATI 2400, come in straight PCI models. And those cards should be capable of running Spore smoothly on at least the medium settings.
Its a fairly average game not really worth it..
