Prototype (now?) available for pre-purchase on Steam

For those who are unaware, Prototype is (now?) available for pre-purchase on Valve's Steam service.

just signed on to Steam, its goin' right into my cart :) this game looks pretty sick.
I probably won't pre-order it. There's no real reason unless there's a discount, which there isn't.The system requirements scare me as well.
NO benefit for pre-ordering.. wow.. they must be really confident about their game.I'm sure their dreams will be crushed come release :D

That's dispicable. I would spend that on a launch PS3 title let alone a D2D PC game.
Why would you have to pre-order a game from Steam? That's useless unless there's some form of promotion. In this case, I don't think there is. It's not like they're going to run out.
£34.99 isnt too bad. Still I'll be getting on 360 as I want achievements.

Is it confirmed that the Game for Windows release will lack achievements? I'm getting it on PC (retail release) because I want mods, better graphics, and I can always use a 360 or PS3 controller if I hate the mouse and keyboard controls...
What the hell are you all talking about getting it cheaper in stores. Its going to be the same price every where. I looked it up on gamestop, wal-mart, bestbuy, and on game for windows websitets all the same price $49.99 and what ever it was in euros. Unless you guy's know a store that sells PC game for cheaper then the retail price its going to be high priced. And it not like it munch more then last-gen games anyway ps2, xbox,gamecube, and dreamcast all those game were $49.99 just be happy its not $59.99 like the ps3 and xbox 360 new releases are.
