PC is going down the drain and i am not liking it

I dont know about many others, but i for one am thinking eventually pc games will be faded out for nothing but consel games. For one there is a bigger income for games in the ps3, xbox and wii becuz most of them are 60 dollars, which i think will only keep increasing due to this economy. That and pirating is getting so out of hand that i really cant blame developers for sticking to video games for consels. Cyrsis got almost 1,000,000 copies pirated in 2008 alone. It is my belief that if you respect developers and want them to continue making great games then you pay for that service. I understand that some do not have the money to buy it, but really i do not think this would be a valid excuse for everyone that pirates a game since most do it so they dont have to pay. I do not mind pirating games that have been on the market for like 10 years or more becuz really i think that they have made all the money they can off of that particular product, but brand new games? Torrents may be the end of pc gaming and i do believe that as soon as they make a more efficent web browser on cosel it will only be a matter of time before it takes over consel. PC was the best, and probably graphics wise will forever be the best, but as far as gaming goes, i cannot see it living that much longer.PC is going down the drain and i am not liking it
I wouldn't worry about it, there is still a huge ammount of money going into PC games.PC is going down the drain and i am not liking it
There isn't a bigger income for the devolpers for console games, a large chunk of the money goes to the console devloper, all the consoles except the Wii were sold at a loss with the idea of making up the differance in game sales.
As long as the PC will exist, there will be games for it. I can't wrap my head around the idea that PC gaming will die. It's nonsense.
Agreed, due to it's nature PC gaming can never die - but it's never been in a worse state than now. Crappy console ports and casual games seem to be the future, unless something is going to radically change.
The future for PC gaming lies in digital distribution. And those numbers aren't even being counted towards actual game sales.
You know.. You're saying PC is going down the drain because of pirates.Lets say it does. PC dies. The pirates will move onto consoles because they have to. You know we already pirate console games? It doesn't matter where you go it will be pirated. PC gaming won't die because of pirating.EDITFor example. GTA IV.
It's funny if the collapse of the PC gaming industry will lead to the piracy of Blu-Ray games. Who cares if it's GB's of data. It's free.

Nooooooooooooooo

Please GOD Noooooooooooooooooo

NOT YET ANOTHER ''PC is dying'' thread....

Look, PC started dying because of consoles/pirates/low quality games/requirements/patches etc at around 2000 B.C. I think right after they built the third pyramid.... it's still here so it must be Bruce Willis (DIE HARD)....get it? get it?

To many of these.. I just have nothing to do today. -.-
You sir are an idiot, and im allowed to say that without getting modded because its obvious you have not done ANY research.

Console market arent making that much more money. Games are more expensive because you are paying royalties for the ''cheap'' console you bought. In the long run a gamer will pay more for a console than a 800$-1k$ gaming pc. There are numerous great titles out atm and great ones to come. Starcraft is a really old game, 10+ years, yet has a huge community behind it. SOOO many other games PLUS modding communities that are giant equate to more people playing on the PC than all the consoles combined. Remember, people can always play pc games, but for console gamers when a new consol comes out they need to buy whole new games and old games stop being played.

Gameplay is far better on pcs, etc. im not getting into that its obvious, point is, pc gaming is doing better than consoles. And to anyone who is uninformed and not a true gamer reading this thread. DO NOT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD make any more of these lame threads.

I hope a mod locks this thread.
Whether they are right or not, seeing a thread like this depresses me somewhat. I don't want the PC to die!

Or the psp mod where it lets you download Umd's? That's like extreme pirating and you don't get caught. Cause you switch out the battery and stuff lmfao.
I tend to think that most MMO's are most enjoyable on the PC, even with the privates servers and whatnot. Private servers are nothing compared to the public servers though.... if I was forced to play WoW I'll play on the public servers... as with any MMO Public>Private.

Also, the further the expansion of computers, the stronger computers are in relative to the console generations... while consoles are getting a lot better, anything graphic intensive is better yet played on the PC. The only real issue is hackers though, but really, if companies could look out for potential hackers and implement ways to make it harder, there would be less or none...

And not to mention the many 360 complaints about broken down boxes ...
This E3 seemed to be all about the Wii.The f'ing Wii - it's the most depressing piece of junk hardware I've ever seen. I hate the hardware, and I hate the stupid, unimaginative, childish software - this f'ing machine represents everything that I hate about console gaming. And no I'm not going to become involved in some twisty tangly debate about the Wii costing ten dollars (I hear that they're packaging them in Cracker Jack boxes now) and my PC costing two thousand dollars. My PC, with its core i7, and its GTX 275, is going to blow the frickin' doors off any console, especially the Wii. I don't frickin' care if my PC cost me two thousand dollars - it's one of the best things I've ever owned, and is worth every single cent. Come on over to my place and play some GTA 4 on my rig if you don't believe me - makes the console version look like a drawing on a cave wall.I just hate console gaming period. And I hate console gamers, too. They don't understand that playing at a higher resolution, with maximum anisitropy, makes ALL the difference.
*Tear in eye*Well said...
