Is it just me or do Starcraft missions take forever?

playing through the missions for the first time, and it's taking me over an hour to build up enough forces to deafeat the enemy. By the time I finally do I'm pretty much run out of resources.Is it just me or do Starcraft missions take forever?

That means you aren't making efficient use of your units and base. I usually build up a force of a dozen marines and 2 medics with two tanks or so, and it is more than enough for me to get through at least half way.For protoss, i make around a half dozen zealots, 3 dragoons, and a high templar or two for psionic storm.And for zerg, i build a force of a dozen and a half zergling, and 5-6 hydralisks, with a defiler nearby (if possible). But usually, if i can, I accompany them with mutalisks.
on protoss(only if you like to give your enimies no mercey)I build 10-20 photon cannons around my base(but before i do so I try to find an empty base for more recources)then I get the stargate and the fleet beacon,upgrade carrier capacity to 4 more intercepters at fleet beacon.......and make 12 carriers with the maximum amount of interceptors.



P.S.on Terran and Zerg im lost...................

P.S.S.But I do win with protoss in other ways of course.
Omega (latest mission from Brood War expansion) takes me over 9 hours. Yes, are long/hard sometimes.
you can always build shooters and win very fast. dont waste time and resources building battle cruisers and carriers. you dont need them

Isn't it a good thing to have missions that take you a long time to complete? Especially in a game as good as starcraft.. I imagine I played it like you; I always like to build a solid defense, gather resources, get the advanced units and when I go for the kill my army is pretty much unstoppable. That way you sample more of what the game has to offer. I must have spent over a week trying and re-trying to beat that last mission..
For Zerg missions all you ever need are hyrdalisks. Pump those babies out.
