It's a great port, it runs great, but no, there are no extra features, it's pretty much the same game, and BDTS DLC is free on PC.How is Mass Effect on pc?
Hot keys, better interface, the DLC is free as long as you registe your copy on Bioware's site.
I rented the first one on 360 and blew through the campainis there any new features for pc? and do you have to pay for bring down the sky on pc?I'm thinking of getting it on steam since its $20 amd I want to create some awesome characters to ready them for mass effect 2
The expansion for Mass Effect on PC is free for the PC gamers. I don't remember the reason why, but it doesn't cost anything. I think you just need to be logged in and provide your game key...but it was a while ago when I download the expansion so I could just be remember wrong about how it's done.
The graphics look better and the controls are so much nicer over the 360 version. It's nice to be able to put a handful of skills/attacks in hotkeys and have them right at your fingertips for quick and easy killing. It's pretty fun and I just enjoy playing PC games over console games any day. I don't think there are any differences in the actual game over the 360 version (no new areas/maps/weapons...those sort of things).

Sure is.
This time try and do more of the side missions. Some aren't that great (stupid AI training ground mission), but some are pretty good (save ambassador on a hijacked ship). Bring down the sky wasn't that great, but it's free on PC.

yeah I'll try to get to the highest level (you have to beat the game twice with one character I've heard, not sure though sounds odd)
I would have loved to play more but after a week blockbuster phones me and states to charge a restocking fee
I'll probably get mass effect after I'm done with prototype
Mass Effect looks fantastic on the PC - and runs like butter. It's worth a second trip, no doubt about it.
Better combat, interface, graphics and probably the most important thing - shorter elevator rides!
shorter elevator rides!
Nah, the one in the citadel is still incredibly long and annoying.
i played it at my friends house on the pc, and it is a lot better than the 360 version. I have the 360 version currently and i honestly can not go back to it after playing the pc version. Everything runs smooth, controls are much much better, and its just a better copy overall. Its strange because i want to go play mass effect again but just cant look over all the flaws on the 360 version after playing it on pc... probably will pick it up again some time soon

Your pc must be crap then, because mine can do the citadel elevator ride in about 0.5 seconds.
It looks much better, it runs much better, the load times are cut to a fraction (i.e. boarding the Normandy, that decontamination laser makes less than one pass and boom you're in. The UI is much better, you get some more hotkeys to allow instant firing of skills, the squad controls are a bit better. With M/KB, the Mako controls suck approximately 100,000 times less than they did on the 360. Seriously. I don't hate my life every time I drive the Mako now. There is one new thing - they changed the hacking minigame for the PC. Instead of playing Simon Says like the 360 version, you're playing a sort of circular Frogger trying to get to the center of the circle. :) I like it more too.edit:

shorter elevator rides!
Nah, the one in the citadel is still incredibly long and annoying. The Citadel ride from C-Sec to the docking bay is one of them, still takes a good 20-30 seconds to allow the news reports or party dialog to happen.

I wasn't sure what those were like on the Xbox though. I know the Citadel is designed to run long, but it's just tooooo long when they aren't discussing anything interesting.
hm am thinking of getting it. $20 on steam is probably worth it from the good reviews i've read

What have you been smoking?
Do you want me to post my Citadel ride on Utube? I can do that ride in two seconds. Your computer must be crap also. Don't you guys ever upgrade your video cards? Get a new video card and stop blaming the elevators.

My CPU is a bit old, but it's fine.Yes, I would love to see this 2 second ride time. It takes that long for the doors to close/open.

Then upgrade your processor.

I can promise you it's decently long, or else you'd simply never hear the news reports or the squadmate conversations. And you'd never see the entire view out the window move, because the elevator's actually MOVING and not just disguising a load time like many of the others. It takes more than 5 seconds for you to get the lit tree in C-Sec out of view on the way up. And besides that... yeah. I've got an overclocked Q6600 and 4 gigs of RAM, with a 280GTX. Really, get a better video card?edit: yeah, just checked.. it takes the better part of 10-15 seconds for the elevator to rise beyond the trees alone, and it take more than 2 seconds for just the doors to close.
Its a good game and worth your time. Its better on the PC, better interface, better vehicle controls. It is very bioware-esque though so it depends on if you like their previous RPG's. The only thing I didnt really like was how linear the levels were.
bout the same as the 360 version
